Velocity Composites plc will be in Atlanta next week as the international composites industry gathers for CAMX 2026, with the aerospace technology specialist using the event to continue conversations with customers, suppliers and industry partners across the North American market. Taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center from 21–24 September, CAMX – the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo – brings together companies working across composites manufacturing, materials, engineering and associated technologies.
For Velocity Composites, the event comes during a period of continued development in the United States, where its Alabama operation is supporting the company’s international growth strategy and providing a platform to serve aerospace customers across North America. Chief Customer Officer James Eastbury believes the concentration of manufacturers and suppliers at CAMX makes it a valuable opportunity to understand where customer requirements are heading.
“CAMX gives us the opportunity to spend time with people from across the composites industry and have detailed conversations about what they are seeing within their businesses,” said Eastbury.
“For us, those discussions are closely connected to aerospace production. Customers are looking at how they support increasing build rates while improving the control, efficiency and resilience of their composite material supply chains. That sits directly within the work we do at Velocity.”
Velocity specialises in engineered composite material kits and supply chain management for aerospace and other high-performance manufacturing applications. Its model combines materials management, digital manufacturing technology and kitting expertise to help customers improve material utilisation and simplify the flow of composite materials into production.
The company’s proprietary systems provide batch traceability throughout the manufacturing process, while its digital manufacturing approach allows material requirements to be planned and nested across multiple kits where specifications permit. Finished kits can then be organised around the customer’s production sequence.
Eastbury sees growing production rates as an opportunity to apply that capability across a wider range of aerospace programmes.
“As aircraft production increases, material management becomes an increasingly important part of the manufacturing equation,” he said. “Composite materials have specific storage, shelf-life, traceability and handling requirements, so there is considerable value in getting that process right before materials reach the customer’s production line.
“Our role is to understand the customer’s manufacturing plan and build a supply model around it. That can cover long-term material planning, kit manufacture, traceability, packaging and logistics, with the objective of delivering material to production in the format and sequence required.”
CAMX 2026 is expected to bring thousands of industry professionals to Atlanta, alongside hundreds of exhibitors representing composites and advanced materials technologies. The exhibition will include manufacturing demonstrations, new material technologies and technical presentations covering developments across markets including aerospace, space, automotive, energy and defence. For Velocity, those conversations will also provide an opportunity to build relationships within a US composites sector that is becoming an increasingly important part of the Group’s international activity.
